A Yeti in the City

To the Peoples of the World,

Once upon a time I made a movie. It was my first. A Yeti in the City is a 90 min narrative film that took me too many moons to make. It is a semi-autobiographical, largely fantastical, musical, poetry, puppet experience that tells the tale of a young abominable snowman who happens upon a city where humans and animals struggle to coexist.

The film premiered at the Austin Film Festival in October 2007 and played again the following June at the Reel Heart International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. The film features many songs by the Austin, TX based band The Octopus Project as well as several songs by the Brooklyn, NY based singer songwriter Andrew Thompson.  It also includes a musical performance by Alisa Sikelianos of the hot BedStuy based band OMG Michelle.

It is far from perfect, somewhat charming and simply put, a creative expression. Despite underlying adult themes like "society has some flaws," it can be viewed without fear by any age group as it was my goal to make a movie that was fun without being offensive, entertaining without being expensive. I'll never quite know if I succeeded, but I will always know that at least what was started was finally completed. It was a labor of love that was only possible with the collaboration of many wonderful people. I feel it is worth sharing with the world.
